ICAN Vice-Chair Rebecca Johnson on the NPT Review Conference

Watch a video of ICAN-UK patron Rebecca Johnson giving her views on a global nuclear abolition treaty and the May 2010 Review Conference of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
The interview was conducted as part of a meeting at Wilton Park in December 2009 held by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, where global decision-makers and non-proliferation experts discussed a variety of nuclear issues.
You can read Rebecca Johnson's recent Peace News article entitled 'NPT: a launchpad for nuclear abolition?' here.
Rebecca will also be speaking at a public meeting 'Banning nuclear weapons is easier than you think' on Monday 16th February at 7pm. The event is at the London School of Economics, Toom D202, Clement House Aldwych.
Other speakers include: Jody Williams, Nobel Peace Prize winner (1997), Jeremy Corbyn MP, Bruce Kent, Kate Hudson (Chair).
Jody Williams will be sharing the lessons learnt from her leading role in the successful campaign to ban landmines. As we move towards the crucial Non-Proliferation Treaty talks in May, the meeting will explore how a Nuclear Weapons Convention could similarly be negotiated.
