Nuclear Abolition Day- 25th June

June 25th, the second Global Nuclear Abolition Day, saw over 140 actions in 25 countries!
Thousands of people demonstrated in the streets, or took action online, to build support for a global treaty banning nuclear weapons.
Actions included peace picnics, information mobs, flash mobs, video projects, awareness projects, vigils, letters to embassies and marches.
As part of Nuclear Abolition Day ICAN-UK handed in a letter to the Prime Minister calling on the UK to scrap Trident and support a nuclear weapons convention.
ICAN-UK also visited the embassies of China, France, Russia and the US to hand in letters calling on these states to start negotiating a global treaty to permanently eliminate their nuclear arsenals.

- ICAN France a freeze-mob and a conference at the Trocadero, in Paris
- Nobel Prize Laureate, Desmond Tutu wrote an article Ending Nuclear Evil, highlighting how abolishing nuclear weapons is the wish of the majority of the world's population.
- Peace Boat organised a forum in Tokyo with atomic bomb survivors, NGOs, students, journalists and the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Senzatomica organized a big flash mob in Rome, Italy
- Some also created videos on youtube to raise awareness of nuclear isues
